Welcome to the Rudloe and environs website.

Here you will find news, articles and photos of an area that straddles the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north-west Wiltshire.

Contributions in the form of articles or photos are welcome. Even those with completely contrary views to mine!

Thanks to the website builder 1&1 and Rob Brown for the original idea.

Rudloescene now, in January 2014, has a sister, academic rather than anarchic, website about Box history here: http://www.boxpeopleandplaces.co.uk/

It contains thoroughly professional, well-researched articles about Box and its people.

This little trip west starts in Leafy Lane Wood - 26th April 2018

Along with yours truly, there's another old git enjoying the spring sunshine in Leafy Lane Wood on 26th April 2018
Lower Shockerwick to the west of Shockerwick House on 26th April 2018
Oak on the A4 at Shockerwick - 26th April 2018
The Wiltshire side of Shockerwick bends on 26th April 2018
Another view of the Wiltshire side of Shockerwick bends with much ivy in evidence - 26th April 2018
Close to the bends now. When walking by these main routes you appreciate what an individualistic, deranged activity driving is. Over 300,000 killed on roads since WWII; our towns and cities desecrated by the tyranny of the motor vehicle ...
Any minute now some maniac will come speeding around the bend with another maniac close behind (do these people behave 'normally' when not behind the wheel?)
The By Brook at Shockerwick bends
On the Somerset side of Shockerwick bends, these sheep and lambs are free-range and grass-fed but the factory farms aren't too far away
Heathrow-bound (probably) jet over our Somerset field
