Welcome to the Rudloe and environs website.

Here you will find news, articles and photos of an area that straddles the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north-west Wiltshire.

Contributions in the form of articles or photos are welcome. Even those with completely contrary views to mine!

Thanks to the website builder 1&1 and Rob Brown for the original idea.

Rudloescene now, in January 2014, has a sister, academic rather than anarchic, website about Box history here: http://www.boxpeopleandplaces.co.uk/

It contains thoroughly professional, well-researched articles about Box and its people.

This is the only photograph of Chopin, taken in 1849, the year of his demise at age 39. This recital and talk by Emilie Capulet at BRLSI in Queen's Square on 1st December 2018 was absolutely, bloomin' marvellous and a welcome respite from the hubbub of the Christmas Market below in the Square.

Bath Christmas Market, Queen's Square section, from the window of BRLSI
Bath doesn't seem so bad - compare it with this image of Malaga around an hour or so later
Emilie decided to remove the front panel to improve the sound
From the sublime to the ridiculous and this chap was selling Trump toilet paper in Union Street for £3 a roll
Walking into Bath, things were looking a bit black at St Saviours in Larkhall and the return certainly brought its problems - see the photo below
I walked to Chapter 01, opposite Morrisons, in order to avoid the crush and to sample a brew at the best bus stop in Bath (the electronic bus timetable can be seen from the bar). But 3 full/non-existent buses (and 45 mins) later, I was still there
