Welcome to the Rudloe and environs website.

Here you will find news, articles and photos of an area that straddles the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north-west Wiltshire.

Contributions in the form of articles or photos are welcome. Even those with completely contrary views to mine!

Thanks to the website builder 1&1 and Rob Brown for the original idea.

Rudloescene now, in January 2014, has a sister, academic rather than anarchic, website about Box history here: http://www.boxpeopleandplaces.co.uk/

It contains thoroughly professional, well-researched articles about Box and its people.

Catkins on the Shockerwick bends on 6th March 2018
Mum and two lambs came running (and bleating) down the field probably believing I was the shepherd

They could start to get savage if I don't produce some goodies soon
I start to make my escape
Survival equipment - desperately needed on the wild Shockerwick/Bathford frontier in the face of savage sheep
For those that survive the sheep attack, mushy peas along with mushy fish and chips specially created for toothless old gits - Monday to Wednesday 12-2pm
Lots of catkins opposite the Barn (food, survival, bushcraft, cider, you-name-it) on the A4

Snow still remains around the field margins in this view across the main line to the Farleigh Down escarpment and the eastern reaches of Bathford
