Welcome to the Rudloe and environs website.
Here you will find news, articles and photos of an area that straddles the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north-west Wiltshire.
Contributions in the form of articles or photos are welcome. Even those with completely contrary views to mine!
Thanks to the website builder 1&1 and Rob Brown for the original idea.
Rudloescene now, in January 2014, has a sister, academic rather than anarchic, website about Box history here: http://www.boxpeopleandplaces.co.uk/
It contains thoroughly professional, well-researched articles about Box and its people.

I continue to use the generic title photograph of the Steam webpages as I didn't take a portrait shot of Duchess of Sutherland (46233) or its environs on the first two days of the nine-day Great Britain XII tour. The first photograph below was taken at Chippenham Station on 27th April 2019 ... having manoeuvered myself behind a pillar and agreed with the guy filming behind me that I wasn't obstructing his view, we waited for the Duchess's arrival. However, as 46233 approached, a load of old (perjorative term I realise) gits emerged from the shadows and blocked our view thus confirming my main grouse about life ... lack of consideration. The photo was therefore a quick snap having to shift to my left whilst making sure I wasn't blocking the movie maker (but he had to shift left too).
Sunday at Bathampton Junction found more considerate spotters. Arriving a tad late, a couple asked if I would like them to shift along to allow me a 'front row' position; an offer I gladly accepted.
