Welcome to the Rudloe and environs website.

Here you will find news, articles and photos of an area that straddles the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north-west Wiltshire.

Contributions in the form of articles or photos are welcome. Even those with completely contrary views to mine!

Thanks to the website builder 1&1 and Rob Brown for the original idea.

Rudloescene now, in January 2014, has a sister, academic rather than anarchic, website about Box history here: http://www.boxpeopleandplaces.co.uk/

It contains thoroughly professional, well-researched articles about Box and its people.

25th February 2020 and the damp weather continues - storms Ciara and Dennis have been punctuated by general rain and another storm, Jorge, is due next weekend. The title photographs show a deserted High Street on a Tuesday afternoon although someone has ventured to Camomile Cafe with their young child (buggy outside).

No al fresco diners today at the Deli
Reg and Ernie are long gone but, thankfully, the designation remains
A lone shopper braves the weather in Martingate Precinct
And one shopper in the High Street. The lights are on but there's no one venturing out.
Just walking in the road, in the rain - and another shopper beyond!
Maybe there'll be a smoker or two in the garden today?
