Welcome to the Rudloe and environs website.

Here you will find news, articles and photos of an area that straddles the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north-west Wiltshire.

Contributions in the form of articles or photos are welcome. Even those with completely contrary views to mine!

Thanks to the website builder 1&1 and Rob Brown for the original idea.

Rudloescene now, in January 2014, has a sister, academic rather than anarchic, website about Box history here: http://www.boxpeopleandplaces.co.uk/

It contains thoroughly professional, well-researched articles about Box and its people.

23rd September 2023 brought the 2nd National Rejoin March to the streets of London, the 1st Rejoin March having taken place last October. The march saw tens of thousands (not the 'hundreds' misreported in much of the UK media) march from Park Lane to Parliament Square where a number of renowned speakers, including A. C. Grayling and Guy Verhofstadt, addressed the throng. The title pictures show: Finbarr in Piccadilly, so; Ian in St James's Street and a tranquil spot in Parliament Square.

The throng in Piccadilly
St James's Street - here we find: the Carlton (gentlemen's club), White's, Boodle's (local connection ref the Marquess of Lansdowne), Brooks's along with many others in the area (in St James's Place and Park Place)
Still in St James's Street
Turning into Pall Mall with the Latvian flag predominating
In Pall Mall (which is also the A4 by the way)
In Whitehall, heading for Parliament Square
They belong to Glasgow - a round trip of 700 miles. The objective is worth it.

Taking in the speeches in Parliament Square
Didn't have time to repent - we had a train to catch
