Welcome to the Rudloe and environs website.

Here you will find news, articles and photos of an area that straddles the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north-west Wiltshire.

Contributions in the form of articles or photos are welcome. Even those with completely contrary views to mine!

Thanks to the website builder 1&1 and Rob Brown for the original idea.

Rudloescene now, in January 2014, has a sister, academic rather than anarchic, website about Box history here: http://www.boxpeopleandplaces.co.uk/

It contains thoroughly professional, well-researched articles about Box and its people.

Pockeredge (or Pockeridge in others' recollections and historical documents) Lower Lake on 29th September 2018

Pockeredge Lower Lake on 29th September 2018
As might be expected after the hot, dry summer, the water level of Pockeredge Lower Lake looks quite low on this late-September day
Some reflections in the shaded, western end of the lower lake
Looking back along the pathway that leads from the northern edge of the lower lake and heads towards Pockeredge Drive
Emerging onto Pockeredge Drive east of the lower lake
Now in Pound Mead and Jackson Close we see, beyond the railings, the new steel/concrete aqueduct taking water across the railway before it plunges underground to ...? In days gone by, this area was always marshy.
