Matt Annis of Bristol Sonics RL wires the result and details of the West of England League Plate Final on Saturday 20th August 2016. The match, along with the Grand Final, was played at Chippenham RU.

20th August 2016 - The West of England League Plate Final between Oxford Cavaliers and Southampton Spitfires. After a week or more of warm weather, finals day was wet and windy with an almighty downpour during the match which saw Oxford triumph by 21 points to 8.

The West of England League Grand Final followed the Plate Final and saw the league leaders from each West of England pool, Portsmouth Navy Seahawks and Swindon St George, contesting a hard-fought match with Portsmouth eventually coming out on top by 36 points to 24.
